Christian Meditation

Christian Meditation is a form of silent contemplative prayer using a mantra or prayer word. It is rooted in the Gospel and letters of St Paul. It originated with the early desert fathers and mothers C4th.

The weekly group meetings are a place for sharing the teaching on Christian Meditation. We commence with a short reading and explanation on how to meditate, an opening prayer, 20 - 30 minutes of silent meditation and then finish with a closing prayer.

There is talk to share thoughts or aspects of one's spiritual journey or ask questions regarding the practice of meditation in the Christian tradition.
